When Giants Stumble

After spending just around €250 million to assemble a team, one would expect great things from them. On paper they seem to be a formidable foe regardless of what ‘string’ team they field, yet against lowly Alcorcon, they seemed no more professional than a college football team.

AD Alcorcon is a Spanish football team based in Alcorcón in Madrid. They ply their trade n the Segunda Division B- Group 2, with their home games in the Municipal de Santo Domingo, with a 3,000 seat capacity. In stark contrast Real Madrid are on of the biggest clubs in world football. This 2nd generation Galacticos team is supposed to make all that stand in their way shudder. After real’s first stumble against Sevilla, one of my friends said to me that the team is still gelling, give them time. At that point I was willing to give them that time to gel, but this is not a team of ordinary players. This team boasts two ‘World Player of the Year’ recipients, as well as some of the best players in the world. Their ‘gelling’ period should not be this long.

During this game real Madrid looked average at best. Yes Ronaldo and Kaka were missing, but that should never be an excuse for a team of this depth. Real needs to step up if they are going to challenge for anything this season.

Yes. They seem to be in some trouble.

But, like i've said a hundred times with respect to Real Madrid. They buy up all d "top" class players and fall flat (exception 2001-2004 with Zidane n crew). A lot of exceptional talent, but are they compatible as a functional team?

A chain can be made up of the strongest material but if where they link are weak, that chain can break under any pressure.

this Real Madrid team is very overrated. buying cry baby Ronaldo for that amount of money.

If Real continue playing the way that they are we might see a repeat performance in the Clasico
