After looking at yet another dominating display by the Blaugrana in the first El Clasico of the 2010/11 season, I am left wondering why there is even a debate about who is the best player in the world. The debate over who is greater Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi has raged ever since the latter emerged from his shell at Barcelona. Even when Ronaldo was at his peak at Manchester United, whenever the two players met on a pitch Ronaldo was totally eclipsed by Messi. Even now, as we look back on what was indeed an impeccable performance by Barcelona’s #10, Ronaldo paled in comparison.
Messi has on more than one occasion proved to us that he is the best player in the world. That argument needs to end. Ronaldo as great as he is, is not in Messi’s league. Case closed.

while i understand your argument, i think the EXAGGERATION needs to stop.
If messi is 9/10, ronaldo is 8.9/10. That is not "miles" or "leagues" different.
